If you’re an expert, thought leader or a life / executive coach, then your ideas and strategies are INCREDIBLY valuable.
So why not create an info product an sell it online?
Here are The 5 Steps to Selling Information Products Online
The most successful person in life is the person who has the best information.
And it’s likely that if you’re reading this article then you have some valuable information that’s in that brain of yours.
Now it could be super useful information such as how to find a relationship, how to lose weight, or how to make a million dollars a year.
Or you could have super random, but helpful information such as how to avoid food poisoning, or how to clean a car.
Regardless, you have some type of valuable information to share, and you want to make an income from packaging.
You also want to share this amazing message that you probably have to make the world a better place.
Four years ago I started a website called Sexy Confidence, where I basically help women feel more confident to go out there and meet the love of their life.
But you see, when I started that website I was actually a touring lecturer at colleges.
I’d spoken at over 300 universities, but I was absolutely sick of getting on airplanes to be able to reach my intended audience.
And that’s where YouTube came in.
So I created a business where I was able to actually share this information without even leaving the house.
And here are the five things I learned along the way.
#1: Give away your best information for free on video
Start by brainstorming a huge list of topics, everything that you know within your given niche.
Maybe it is relationship advice, maybe it’s health advice, maybe it is how to cook.
It could be anything that you have advice to give, or any information that you have to give. And brainstorm a ton of different subtopics within that particular niche.
Then go ahead and create a bunch of videos teaching your best information and giving it away on YouTube.
#2: Watch Your Analytics
Take a look at the videos that people are really liking and engaging, and sharing.
Monitor what people are enjoying, and what people are NOT enjoying. I guarantee you this: the videos that you think were going to be most popular, end up bombing, and the videos that you think suck, are going to perform really well.
It’s this crazy mystery of the internet world.
#3: Continue building your viewership because you’re giving away that free information
As you’re giving away your information on YouTube, on Facebook, on Instagram, people are going to get some results. They’ll find their relationship, or they’ll lose that stubborn belly fat.
And if someone watches your video and gets some results from it, they are going to want to follow you, and they are going to see you as a G-D.
Ultimately, that’s how you build your viewership.
#4: Create a Product Where You Dive Deep into Your Most Popular Topics
So let’s say it’s relationship advice, and you created a video on texting, and that video just went viral.
A lot of people are watching that, and they want to learn even MORE about that topic; that’s perfect.
That is going to be your first product you create!
If you’re giving business advice, and one of the videos you launched were all about how to build your SEO, then you know what you’re gonna do?
You’re going to create your first product on SEO.
Clearly that’s what people want to learn more about.
#5: Actually Create It and Sell It!
I know how difficult it “feels” to sell information online.
All these different insecurities come into your mind, and you start to think, “Is my information even that valuable?”
But ultimately it comes down to you having the confidence to put yourself out there to the world.
Give it a shot.
Maybe your first product isn’t going to be a blockbuster; you’re not going to make $100,000.
But even if you make $5,000, $10,000 off that first product you’re going to be able to start building the confidence, starting to get results, and get results for your clients.
You’re going to realize the power of selling your information online.
And then version two is gonna be even better, then version three is even gonna be better than that.
So really once you’ve gone through steps one through four, I urge you to actually sell it online, actually push yourself to put it out there.
And I remember the first time that I ever put my first info product online, I thought to myself, “There’s absolutely no way “anyone’s going to buy this.”
This was probably about eight years ago. And it actually; I mean I started promoting it, and it actually got picked up on CNN.com. And it was mind blowing.
Once I saw that happen, then my entire life changed. And I want your life to change as well.
So let me ask you, what’s stopping you from creating an info product and selling it online?
